Heat uniformly to 830/860°C until heated through. Quench in oil or water. Can also be induction or flame hardened. When 080A42 components made from bright bar are to be induction hardened it is recommended to machine the surface to remove the decarburised skin that may be present to ensure optimum hardness is achieved.
