Cast Iron Cast Iron bars are generally alloys that contain more than 2% carbon and from 1% to 3% silicon. Cast Iron bar is offered as grey iron and ductile types. The major difference in these types of cast iron is the shape and distribution of graphite in their micro structure. Continious casting virtually eliminates porosity inclusion, burned on impurities, and surface flaws.   Stocks held in continuous cast iron bar, offering a finer grain structure and graphite distribution than sand cast iron bar.  We can supply cast iron round bar in 3 metre lengths or as cut pieces.  Square and flat bar can be supplied as cut pieces to your required sizes. Cast Iron grades include BS2789 420/7 600/7, BS1452 Grade 220, 250, 260, Meehanite, Grey Iron, SG Iron.
