Spring Steel			Information
Carbon spring steel is held in a wide range of sizes. Detailed below are our most common specifications. Carbon steel strip and spring steel sheet is available most commonly in the hardened and tempered condition, though certain sizes are available in the annealed condition. Round and flat bar is stocked in the as rolled condition. Most spring steel specifications are held to British Standard steel specifications including BS1449 & BS970. We also hold stock of spring temper rolled stainless spring steel  supplied  in grade 301 stainless which is an austenitic stainless steel.  Stainless spring steels are also stocked in 420 which is a martensitic stainless steel specification. Shim steel is stocked in grade BS1449 CS4.

EN43 is a carbon spring steel which is supplied in round bar, hexagon, flat and also as spring steel plate and sheet. Plate can be flame cut to your requirements with normalising recommended for this spring steel grade. EN45 is a silicon manganese spring steel suitable for oil hardening and tempering. Available in round and flat bar. It can be supplied as stock lengths or cut to your requirements EN47 is an oil quenching quality spring steel grade which gives good wear resistance properties after heat treatment. This chromium vanadium spring steel grade is available as round bar and limited sizes are available as flat bar.

BS1449 covers a wide variety of spring steel specifications. Our stocks include grades CS70, CS80, CS95 and limited stock of CS100 spring steel. All these grades are stocked as spring steel strip and can be cut to your requirements. These specifications are supplied as hardened and tempered spring steel or as annealed spring steel. CS70 and EN42 carbon spring steel grades are also stocked as spring steel sheet with stock sizes up to 4.76mm thick (3/16") Limited stocks are held in austenitic stainless grade 301 spring steel and martensitic grade 420 spring steel.
