Technical Data
708M40 is a high tensile alloy steel usually supplied readily machineable in ‘T’ condition. 708M40 offers good ductility and shock resisting properties combined with resistance to wear. 708M40 can be flame or induction hardened.

Hardening:Heat uniformly the 708M40 tool to 820/840°C until heated through. Quench in oil.
Tempering:Heat the 708M40 tool uniformly and thoroughly at the selected tempering temperature, and hold at heat for one hour per inch of total thickness.
