  708M40  708M40T  Technical Data 708M40  is a high tensile alloy steel usually supplied readily machineable in ‘T’ condition. 708M40 offers good ductility and shock resisting properties combined with resistance to wear. 708M40 can be flame or induction hardened. TYPICAL ANALYSIS  708M40 C. Si. Mn. Cr. Mo. 0.40% 0.25% 0.70% 1.20% 0.20% Hardening:Heat uniformly the 708M40 tool to 820/840°C until heated through. Quench in oil.
