835M30
Technical Data
835M30 is a 4¼% nickel air/oil hardening steel. 835M30 achieves a good through hardness with high strength and toughness. 835M30 is capable of taking a good polish and is widely used as a plastic mould steel. 835M30 is supplied in the annealed condition for heat treatment after machining.

Forging:
Heat the 835M30 tool slowly and uniformly to uniformly to 1050°C. After forging cool slowly.
Annealing:
Heat uniformly to 630/650°C. Soak well and cool slowly in the furnace.
Hardening:Pre heat slowly yo 650/700°C and thoroughly soak. Continue heating to the final hardening temperature of 830/850°C and allow the 835M30 component to be heated through. Quench in oil or cool in air.
Tempering:
Heat uniformly and thoroughly at the selected tempering temperatures and hold the 835M30 component for one hour per inch of total thickness.
