CS95 Spring Steel


CS95 spring steel stockholders and suppliers. CS95 is a carbon spring steel with an average carbon content of 0.95% supplied in sheet, strip and plate with delivery to the whole of the UK. West Yorkshire Steel are suppliers of CS95 commonly conforming to BS1449 and BS5770 designations. CS95 strip is supplied in coil and can be cut and slit to your requirements. It is common for CS95 strip to be supplied with a polished surface finish; achieved by fine grinding, abrasive brushing or other similar type of process. With this polished finish CS95 strip is supplied with dressed edges or sheared to your required width. For spring applications it is recommended that CS95 be used in the hardened and tempered condition We also supply CS95 annealed spring steel.

Applications

CS95 spring steel is commonly used for a wide variety of applications including wood cutting saws, knives, doctor blades, saw blades, masonry tools, clutches, agricultural tools, blades, shims, washers, flat springs.


Carbon 0.90-1.00% Phosphorous 0.04% max
Manganese 0.30-0.60% Sulphur 0.04% max
Silicon 0.05-0.35%

If hardening CS95 consideration should be given to heat treatment temperatures, including rate of heating, cooling and soaking times etc. which may vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each CS95 spring steel component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities. Please consult your heat treatment provider for full guidance on heat treatment of spring steels.
